Houston, Texas 1958: In a hidden underground base at Houston airport new planes are designed and built but spies are all over and after the secrets.

There are strange things going on at Houston airport in the Pyramid Space Center. Obviously the US Air Force enlisted the help of aliens for their top secret projects. Or did the aliens enlist the US Air Force? Who knows?

The top secret project of the Pyramid Space Center is the Galland 1 Fighter Jet. Every spy of the communist world is after the plans of the Galland 1.

Barbara Barclay (Linda Aldrige), a young stewardess is flying with the new passenger plane also designed in the Pyramid Space Center.

When Linda spends a day with some other fligth attendants on a ranch, she discovers she is surrounded by communist spies who stole the plans of the new fighter jet. And that is only the beginning of a never ending nightmare...

Making Of

Movie Maniacs certainly know that the title: Not Only Angels Have Wings is some playing around with the title of the old Howard Hawks movie Only Angels Have Wings, starring Cary Grant.

I am a big fan of Howard Hawks, Alfred Hitchcock, Ernst Lubitsch, Terence Fisher and many other directors and director-producers. And like many writers I love to play around with titles. In the British tv series The Avengers there is one episode entitled: Dirtyer by the Dozen playing around with the title of the famous war movie. I also could not resist doing that a couple of times. One episode of the Unhappy End! series is entitled: Last Laugh. There is of cause a very famout Murnau movie entitled: Der letzte Mann (translation to English: The Last Man. However the distribution changed the US title to: The Last Laugh...) Probably very few people know all this but it is always fun to include such things.
